Start your own orphanage

By Penelope Orphanage Brown

Appearances are deceptive as they say. In a corresponding way all those people who seem to be impoverished are not always so (modestly as poor as to demand your attention). You should have the skill to choose orphans. Every child that is in rags in rural Africa may not essentially require your help.

The common error that people tend to make is to go and arbitrarily assemble children to help them. They mistakenly feel that because kids don't have shoes to wear and look poor are really poor. It is easy to make such a mistake even if the intentions are good or the heart is filled with kindness. Most of the people in African villages look deprived but it is not necessary that they need any sponsors from the West.

Many villagers have their own farms to grow food and have ample food to eat, have adequate funds to send their children to school for educating them, etc. Their daily living involves labor and farming. In the West even the farmers and cowboys work hard. Just by looking shabby and paltry does not imply that you need some type of help.

You must get in touch with the local people to know how to choose the really desperate orphans. Nevertheless you should be cautious of the people who may trick you into believing that their relatives are the needy ones that sponsors should help.It is the easy way out for them to get money for their children, to pay their tuition fees through someone else's funding. As a result they hide the truth and try to cheat the unskilled person who simply believes their lies.

There must be thousands who require help, but providing the right help, to the right people at the right time is the key. If you volunteer to go on a mission trip to Africa or in an orphanage you will have a first-hand experience. Getting the right training you need to begin the process for an orphanage, shortlisting the deserving orphans, finding sponsors and acquiring funds to construct an orphanage are a few areas that can be learned well at a good training school for missionaries. This could give you an approximate suggestion of how you can start your own orphanage.
