Marriage Jewish Christian Interfaith Wedding

By Michelle Robinson

It is the beginning of a new future together and when making preparations for that special day, it is best not to get too stressed out over it. Jewish Christian Interfaith Wedding is a need in these days and times as intermingling of people of different faiths has become the norm unlike years ago when marriages were arranged between families. Pleasing those guests who will be attending is a matter of course and one should do some research as to what is permissible and what is not.

Kosher is another meaning for foodstuffs that Jews are allowed to eat according to their faith. It is best to cater for this as many of the guests that will be attending expect this and it is not advisable to disappoint. By simply doing a search on the Internet or asking a Rabbi who may be performing the ceremony, a kosher caterer can be employed to dish up the most sumptuous of meals.

One does not need to get into an in depth study of the many laws that govern this as it is a fairly simple exercise today to get the services of a kosher catering company. One only need to know that milk and meat foodstuffs are not served at the same time as this will go against many who keep these laws in their home and will be expecting to be served a kosher meal. Fish and meat can be served together or fish and milk products can be served together but never meat and milk together.

Again, one does not need to worry about this and it is advisable to leave all the preparations to a kosher catering company. Besides this it is well worth the while to get a Rabbi involved to answer any questions that may arise as to the procedure of the wedding. One may want to include a flavour from both faiths and if going the Jewish route, the couple may want to consider incorporating a Chuppah on the occasion.

Another possibility that one may want to include is to have include some of customs that make up an Orthodox wedding. This can include having a chuppah or canopy under which the couple will stand during the duration of the ceremony. One may want to include special friends or family and this is a great way to do just this by having selected pole holders.

Simply put, a Chuppah is a prayer shawl hung up by four poles that the couple will stand under during the ceremony. This can be bypassed if need be but does add a sentimental touch and besides this, it is customary to have this included. It can be draped with flowers and creepers to give it a natural feel and this is inline with Jewish practices.

It can turn out to be a problem free occasion. With right approach all obstacles can be overcome. Keep it kosher.

With intermingling of faiths today this has become quite common. It is not surprising that many are going the Jewish route when it comes to making wedding preparations. Remember, to have fun on this special day.
