A Few Of Fundraising Charity Ideas

By Amy Lee

At some point in life, we have to participate or throw a fundraiser. This can be in the form of various activities and events. You may choose to have a ball, a sports events, a teamwork challenge among many other things. This article is however on community-based fundraising charity ideas. This is a few of the ways a community can quickly raise money.

You can have a neighborhood street party. This is especially necessarily when calamity has struck the area. People can donate food and furniture like chairs and tables. Usually, everyone is invited, and it is conducted by one person who acts as the emcee. Different families prepare different meals which are shared by the whole neighborhood.

A garage sale is a good way to make money. It can also be used as a fundraising technique. We all have those things we do not need anymore. A community garage sale is a perfect way to rid yourself of them. The money raised can be used to support the project which the fundraising was all about. It is actually a win-win situation as you get rid of the stuff at the same time helping out the community.

A car wash is also a good way of raising money. This can be a done by a selected section of people. For example, the football team members. They can clean up the vehicles for a fee. This money is in turn used to fund the project in question. It is one of the most effective fundraising methods as people will always have dirty cars.

Apart from washing cars, you can decide to wash dogs. This is fun for both you and them. Dogs like water and this will be so much fun for them. You can start them off by playing around with them. Once they are all dirty. You can wash them and groom them. You will have raised money at the same time made someones pooch look much better.

There is the fun idea of cloth swapping. This is where people bring the clothes they have no use for anymore. They then hang them on a rack. People come around and pick out whatever they like. The ones that are not picked out are then donated to charity. This is actually killing three birds with one stone in that; you get rid of what you do not want, acquire what you would like and help those in need.

Another idea is convincing the local restaurant to donate their tips for one night to the less fortunate. You may also opt to ask them to donate a nights worth of profit to the less fortunate. The other option is having them cook a yummy meal for the homeless and less fortunate as a way of giving back to the community.

You can have scavenger hunting. Burry the items on the list all over the neighborhood. There should be a small enrollment fee, and the winner may choose to donate all or a part of the price to charity. This is both fun and helpful to the community.
