Tennis court maintenance will actually depend on the type of courts that a person will have to take care of. Normally, the courts are made of hard surfaces. It can be made out of cement, asphalt, grass, or clay. There is an appropriate width and length for the courts, as well as the height for the net used in every game.

Nowadays, maintaining the courts is not that difficult. There are many tips to follow and many resources ton find to be able to do a good job at this. When maintaining the courts, one has to make sure that the surface has no debris. Keeping it clean allows one to use the courts for a long time.

The courts should not have any loose pebbles and rocks too. The loose pebbles and rocks are the common causes of cracks and divots on the said hard surface. There should never be a minor crack on these courts. Otherwise, it will cause impairment of ball movements, an increase to the damages on the courts, and players tripping.

To be able to treat these cracks, the person should get an acrylic coating. Apply this over the cracks so that there will be no more damages inflicted on the courts. The players or other people who will be stepping on the courts should be wearing non-marking soles to prevent marks or scuffs from appearing.

The repeat lines should be noted as well. If the repeat lines are getting blurred, be sure to repaint it over again. This is because it is extremely necessary for the person to keep these marks easy to see. This is the marking that will tell the clear boundaries of the play. If it is not clear, it will just cause some blunders in the player's or referee's in-game decisions.

If the person is using the clay courts, then make sure that it is raked with lute-scarifier on a regular basis. This should help in loosening and leveling the clay since it can help remove those loose granules. The said tool will simply float over the surface, its concave blade smoothing the surface out. Its drag brush provides benefits too.

The person may also make use of the line scrub brushes for removing anything that has caked the lines. This way, the lines will become clearer. The person may also make use of the rollers as the final component that will keep the surface compact. It is also recommended to water the courts before any repair to keep the clay moist, preventing further cracking.

The grass courts should be considered as well. The grass courts are not as easy to maintain as it is with the clay courts. One will have to start out by cultivating these grasses and allowing them to grow smoothly and evenly. Avoid causing slants and depressions too. The surface has to be as firm as possible.

It is not possible to use the said grass courts after installation. The weeds have to gain enough depth first before the surface can be used. With the tennis court maintenance tips available nowadays, one has to meticulous prepare the grass courts to make it useful.
