By Jayne Rutledge

Churches are dedicated buildings where the believers often meet for worshiping. These buildings house the different types of believers and faithful. The believers often meet here for worshiping on Sundays. Some believers worship on Saturdays. The churches are always open throughout the week. This ensures that the faithful often exercise their freedom of worship. The Staten Island Christian church has been on the forefront of championing the freedoms for the worshipers. This is usually done by welcoming all and sundry for worshiping.

Christians believe in a super being. In virtually all the religions this being is God. Most believe that God created heaven and earth and then put man in it. The creation story focuses on strengthening faith of believers in the super being. Through the creation of heaven, earth and the skies, God and creation ends being one. The union makes the two rely on each other. This union also ensures that he manifest his presence through various ways.

Churches are often used for worship. There are several reasons why the Staten Island believers worship. One of the main reasons is to thank God for the gift of life. Through the various natural things that he has given us, the world is able to support life. The air that we breathe supports various types of lives. This is what makes us healthy.

Reading of scriptures unifies the faithful. The scriptures are read from the Bible. The Bible is the holy book for millions of Christians across the world. Through the various books in the Bible, the presence of God is manifested. The books have various stories that the modern believers can always relate to. Most of these stories have special teachings for the faithful. Some aim to encourage them while others give life lessons.

The Christians in this church have formed a number of social groups. Through the meetings of various groups, they are able to socialize. They get to know each other better through such groups. The groups also ensure that the Christians share various testimonies about their daily lives. The testimonies could be in form of trials and temptations that they have gone through. These experiences help the group to strengthen the faith of each of the members.

Churches often advocate for the members to tag along their friends. The new members are welcomed warmly so that they end up feeling better in the new social group. This way the social circles are expanded as more and more members are brought in.

Churches have a special a special way of giving to the society. This is based on the spirit of sharing. The worshipers visit the needy around their homes or the worship centers. They share the gospel with them. This strengthens the needy and gives them the courage to face their tribulations. Worshipers could also share their belongings with the needy as a gesture of love.

Most of the worship centers were founded on the spirit of love and caring by a few worshipers. The history of the Staten Island Christian church goes back in many years. The worshipers used to congregate here to worship and share with a couple of friends. The spirit of friendship has helped them extend the social circles over the years.
