The Development Of Shoe Covers Disposable Accessories

By Marsha Klein

Many people have viewed their footwear as something very essential for our daily lives. They are worn when people would like to go from one point to another location, sometimes even inside their house, in order to protect their feet. They have also been worn when people go to location with grave condition or sensitive. Due to this, Shoe Covers Disposable was made as an accessory for these instances.

This piece of apparel has undergone a bit of interesting changes over the years. They started out as what was known as spats. These spats kept mud and dust of boots. Amazingly, spats have found applications in military uniforms and in expressing ones wealth. Every now and then, spats become fashionable to magnify footwear aesthetics.

In the nineteenth century, rubber became the next choice as the best material for covering shoes as it was waterproof and weatherproof. This extended the life of shoes considerably, against the older versions of protection. But due to the crude techniques used in manufacturing rubber, and the use of natural rubber, it had the tendency to crack in very cold temperatures and melt when it was very hot. Today, synthetic rubber composed of artificial elastomer, a byproduct of petroleum, which tends to last longer.

During the thirties, over-boots started becoming trendy. Although this was classified as a footwear covering, it was not a practicality-based product and was primarily used as an ornamental piece in clothing. Though, the design of the over-boots was revolutionary as it was the first one with high heels placed in the structure.

Another practical and innovative invention was the drizzle boot. They used clear plastic that was shaped to fit in shoes and were meant to protect its contents while other people are still able to see what is inside. This made it fashionable and was very effective against rain, mud, snow or slush.

Today, such accessories are used for more practical reasons. Since footwear is used in almost all settings, and since a number of locations have sensitive requirements, such apparel have become a part of in-house protection of such establishments and their employees. Examples of its many applications include phone and cable installers, heating and air technicians, delivery men, carpet cleaning personnel, realtors, home inspectors, electricians & plumbers, pest control personnel, window washers and those employees involved in the sensitive manufacture of electronics and semi conductors.

The material in which this is made of varies, as well, depending on the intended use for it. Materials used as its structure include thin plastic, denim, pack cloth, polypropylene, polyethylene and chlorinated polyethylene. The newer versions of this attire add-on provide numerous benefits for the user and various other stakeholders. Not only are they dust proof and water proof, they also are very lightweight, cost effective, convenient, soft, flexible, easy to dispose, and provide great protection against dust. The shoe cover is also self-tightening due to rubber band being melted into the structure to hold various parts in place.

Surgical procedures and manufacturing industries have benefited greatly from shoe covers disposable apparels. One of the main goals of these industries is to prevent dust contaminants in entering the work premises and ensure cleanliness to avoid any complications that may arise.
