Ways To Avoid Marriage Troubles

By George E Lawrence

Every newly married couple imagines that their love will last forever. Many couples, in the beginning, tell themselves that they will not become one of those bitter older couples who are just staying together for the kids. Unfortunately, too many young couples are starting out married life, without the tools and wisdom they need to be a part of a working relationship. Understanding the basic fundamentals of what makes for a happy marriage is important if you want to avoid being one of the countless marriages that end in divorce.

There are 3 main categories to pay attention to throughout your marriage. First you must have an open line of communication. Secondly, you must support each other's individual talents and not lose sight of your individual goals. Finally, always find time to be alone together. By following these tips, you will better understand each other and be able to meet the needs of your partner.

Relationship advice for newlyweds

Every one learned to share, or should have at least, in kindergarten. Sharing should not only be applied to material things. If you are in a marriage, you have committed to love a person for your entire life. In order to be successful, you need to know how they are feeling. Since most people cannot read minds, communication and sharing about feelings in a marriage is paramount to success. If you allow yourself to push aside your feelings your spouse will have a hard time factoring in your thoughts when they are making a decision. This may cause you to feel undervalued in your relationship.

When you fall in love with someone, you love them the way they are. Being truthful with your partner and allowing them to continue doing the hobbies or pursuing their career is important if you want to sustain your marriage for any length of time. People, who lose themselves in a relationship, often develop feelings of resentment toward their partners that can be hard to overcome later in life.

Finally, what is the point of a relationship if you do not spend any time together? No relationship can remain healthy if both people involved are not committed to making it work. Life gets hectic, and careers, children, and other factors can start to consume the time couples used to spend building strong bonds. No matter how long you have been together as a couple, you should set aside time to be alone. This time together will help remind you why you fell in love in the first place. Start small at first. Plan a time once every couple of weeks and commit to sharing that time together no matter what. Even a small gesture will go a long way toward improving your relationship if you do not let anything interfere with your planned time together.
