Interior Design For More Eco-Friendly Homes

Nowadays, everybody seems resolute at finally going green, from transportation (forget your car; bike or walk instead) to lessening plastic consumption (no straws on my beverage please) to everyday things (I'm taking the stairs instead of the elevator today).

But then again, going green is more than just a matter of small, isolated decisions you can simply let go of if you feel like using a straw just this one time. It's a lifestyle that needs dedication. It needs to have that well rounded character as well, which makes it all the more logical for you to gradually make your home, that single place around which your life revolves, the centre of your eco-friendly way of life. You could achieve this through carefully planned interior design, something which Singapore interior designers could skillfully help you with.

One key thing you need to keep in mind in attempting to make spaces more eco-friendly is to rely less and less on anything manmade and more on resources that are naturally available. Think about how much more sunlight and fresh air you could have simply by having large windows (and think about the energy savings too!).

LED light bulbs, on the other hand, are also several times more energy-saving than the ordinary light bulb. If you have to repaint your house, using less toxic paint (those with low or zero VOC) will save you and your family the burden of inhaling harmful chemicals which circulate in the air inside your home.
