Unique Save The Dates Ideas

By Carolyn Wilson

Having identified the date for your big wedding, it is time to inform your guests. Since people do not sit idle waiting for invitations, you need to compete with other people and events. This requires Unique Save the Dates cards or items that make your invitation memorable. This is your opportunity to be personal and ensure that guests look forward to your big day.

Go for uniquely shaped cards. Some people find shapes to be memorable. They also leave a lasting impression in the mind. Other than use the usual rectangle shapes, go for new shapes like diamonds, hexagons, circles, etc. Enhance the invitation by providing a hook, stand, thread to hang, etc. Provide a unique feature that makes it stand out among many other invitations.

Include a caricature on your card. Use a real picture to draw the couple in an inimitable mood. It makes your invitation different and memorable. You may add an ornament like a flower or let the couple engage in a dance. Use the theme of your wedding in the background and include words that are in line with your images. Do not stuff the drawing with a lot of unnecessary images that it appears like a joke.

There is magic in using a vintage photograph. Weddings have been associated with vintage cars and a laughing couple. Have a vintage black and white wedding photo on your card. A classic car with flowers will perfectly present your mood. This is a distinct departure from the use of clip arts and words to pass the message. The picture should be professionally assimilated into the invitation.

Use a detachable sticker on your card. It is common for people in offices to use stickers as reminders. They are pasted on desks, boards, computer screens, etc. When producing your card, provide a sticker that the person can pluck and stick at a conspicuous place to always remember the day. The sticker should include details like date and venue of the big celebrations.

An artistic item will remain memorable. People easily discard cards after the wedding. However, an artistic item will remain on their desk or wall and will always remind them of your big day. It could be a canvas painting, an embossed cup, bracelet, flag, etc. A curved piece of wood would also do the trick. Most guests will keep the art for long and will always remember your special day.

What of a multilingual invitation for your diverse friends? This idea works best when your circle includes people of different nationality and languages. Different languages enable you to accommodate all friends in a single card. Furthermore, everyone wants to feel personally invited to the occasion. The message may be printed on the same page using different languages. It saves on the cost of printing different cards for each group.

Embrace technology. Digital invitations are as effective as the use of physical cards. Record an audio or video and broadcast it to friends. You will not need to search for them physically or drop the cards from door to door. The invitation can be replayed time and again. Others will convert it into a ring tone and forever remember the date.
