By Belinda Norbert

Do not let your pest control problem cause you too much stress. There are dozens of different pests that will quickly exploit any opening into your home. Even if you keep a close watch on your entrance ways, pests can find their way in. This piece offers useful ways to deal with pest infestations.

One way to kill hornets, bees, and wasps near your home is using hairspray. Hairspray contains may chemicals that can destroy these insects. In addition, the scent of hairspray can prevent more of these insects from coming into your home.

Use hairspray to kill cockroaches. If you ever have a cockroach in your home and don't have any bug killer on hand, try using an aerosol hairspray. It allows you to keep a significant distance between yourself and the roach, while being an effective means of suffocating and killing it.

You can keep ants away from the inside of your home using a mixture of sugar and borax. Start by mixing one cup of sugar and one cup of borax into a quart jar. Then, punch some holes in that jar's lid. Sprinkle it near the baseboards inside your house and around the outside. The ants will eat the sugar and the borax will poison them.

If you had bedbugs and think they're gone, be wary. Bedbugs can hibernate an entire year. So it is important to close all points of entry. This will prevent them from hiding anywhere.

Does your home's location contain lots of mice and rats? If so and you are considering planting a few trees, then you should ensure you don't plant them neary our home. The trees provide a climbing spot for rodents, allowing them to have easy access to your roof. Therefore, you should plant trees a minimum of 15 feet away.

Make your own inexpensive ant traps using boric acid and sweet liquid. Mix a couple of tablespoons of boric acid powder into a cup of honey, molasses, or simple syrup. Pour the mixture into bottle caps or shallow plastic lids. Place these traps in areas where you have seen ants, but keep them out of the reach of children and pets.

You have just gone over some of the ways that pests can be dealt with. Obviously, you are not the only person who has to worry about pests. Pests are front and center in many households across the globe. Utilize all that you have just learned so that you can permanently get rid of pests.
