Why You Need To Seek Help Of Powder Coating Los Angeles Painters

By Linda Ruiz

When looking for high quality finishes that will last long and leave no mess on surfaces, you may want to try powder coats. With powder coating Los Angeles painters, industrial companies and individuals will find that this is one of the most highly regarded finishes in the industry, being used on a variety of both industrial and domestic materials. It is especially useful for metal substrates, adding color and strength.

One of the reasons it is very effective is the working mechanism. This procedure does not operate like liquid paints, and is therefore far much effective. It uses a coating gun that has a polarized rod running through it. When the powdered material passes by the rod in the gun, it is polarized and assumes a slightly positive charge.

When the particles pass through, they get charged, leaving a slightly positively charged powdery substance and an item, which is slightly negatively charged. When the powders leave the gun, the charges will definitely attract. The positive charge on the powdery material will seek the negative charges on the material that is to be coated.

Of course, there will be some materials that conduct better than others, and one will have to apply some more complex techniques like hot flashing. Also, one should be careful not to run into the Faraday effect. The next stage is the curing process, where the object that is being coated is heated to temperatures up to around 190 degrees.

The particles melt and change in chemical composition, realigning and becoming stronger. The cooling process happens slowly so that both the powdery substance and the item coated cool down to room temperature at the same time. The advantages this coating brings to the table are much more than just the process of application.

The working mechanism is just the tip of the iceberg here. The advantages that it comes with are numerous. Because of the way the powdery material is applied, the amount used on the item coated is as high as 95 percent of the amount released from the spray gun. With numbers like this, there is less wastage and the process is neater than the conventional liquid painting processes.

The cost effectiveness does not stop there, though. The particles are smaller than the liquid based pigments in liquid paints. When using a single color, the particles can be recycled until up to 100 percent of them are used. For the liquid paint, once applied, there can be no recycling. The coating applied by this process is far much thicker than the normal paint coats.

In fact, this is one of the key reasons why it is so durable. In some cases, the coating is almost ten times that of paint coats. The baking process will also ensure that the finish comes out as smooth as glass without any cases of orange peel. With the technical process and the thick coats, the finish comes out as durable as ever. Materials coated through this process are resistant to damage by moisture, UV light, chemicals, and impact. Using this method guarantees a long lasting and beautiful finish.
