Worldwide the Muslim community is rapidly growing. Islamic culture, beliefs and traditions have been in existence for quite some time. Muslims all over the world still hold onto their beliefs. The same norms and traditions were held by those before them and will be observed by those to come. Disagreements have been observed between the new generation and last one. But, this has not derailed them from their beliefs. One of those beliefs is Muslim matchmaking.

Identity for Muslims has really become an issue throughout the world due to terrorist activities ongoing around the world. Many of them are afraid to practice their religion in public especially in many Christian countries. What many do not understand is that Islam is much bigger than all these activities. And terror attack is not linked to Islam at all.

The responsibility of a Muslim person is to dress the four dimensions which are faith, understanding, education and transmission. With all these they still have to stay faithful to the Islamic sources which should remain the fundamental frame of reference. In the current world struggles still exist to maintain both the cultural and Islamic traditions but so far it has been able to withstand the challenges of time.

In respect to Muslims social institutions such as family and marriage has been dominated by feminist critique. Which has led to apparent unequal role of women in the Muslim society. Though it keeps on changing and evolving due to the westernization culture. In the Islamic law and beliefs, the process of marriage involves finding a spouse for women.

The law on picking a spouse for the girl child is slowly being eroded by technology. Practices of the old time on marriage are being avoided by many youngsters practicing this religion as they taken to technology. To understand the Muslim identity it is best that people look at a wide perspective. Several elements including personal experience should be able to provide better understanding of Muslim identity.

Marriage is very important in the life of any Muslim. In Islam, marriage is compared to the faith of an individual. Therefore, when preparing for marriage, several guidelines must be followed. After the marriage has taken place, also, there are guidelines to be followed by both the man and woman. These guidelines include no flirting or physical contact between men and women at all.

A special appointed person oversees the adherence to the two most important rules of marriage. It should be noted that a man and woman are regarded as unrelated before they get married. Interestingly this religion does not recognize dating. Unfortunately, technology has facilitated breaching this as most spouses date on line before marriage. Online dating appears to be the main threat to this law.

Even though it has been tough upholding the rules pertaining to Muslim marriage something positive came out of this. These online platforms are now used to search for life partners as opposed to the traditional method where pictures of husbands would be brought to a woman to choose. Now they can interact with the men and know a bit about them before committing.
