Continue reading to read some engrossing details on Human Trafficking Resources CA.

Essentially speaking, this is a type of crime that is committed, especially since the victims are people who were forced or coerced into their current situation. In fact, a vast majority of their victims are young children and women of all ages. While most of these cases involve their kidnapping, it does not necessarily entail taking them to another place.

Each year, 150 billion dollars are earned as a result of trafficked people, which correspond to the 21 million people who are victimized each year. These people are often coerced into it or are threatened, which results in them becoming afraid and conditioned into remaining in the same situation for years. Due to the huge profit these criminals garner, it has become much more rampant in the last few years.

The industry can be categorized into three aspects, and the first is labeled as debt bondage. Essentially, a person acquires a certain amount in debt for money they may have borrowed but was never able to pay. After a subsequent time of neglecting to give any sort of payment, they are required to work for the person they have a debt to. However, any money they earn does not go in their hands and can be accessed by them because the employer has full control over their funds.

Forced labor occurs when a person is forced to work in specific industries against their will. It could be a type of punishment or for monetary gain and it is a kind of situation wherein freedom is strictly prohibited. For instance, men are often trafficked, so they can be recruited into unskilled work. This generally includes hard labor or simple tasks like the food service industry or janitorial services.

Child labor is an amalgamation of the two, but involves only children from ages five to seventeen. Often times, these youngsters are abducted and sold as slaves. Some work as a form of entertainment, while others are forced into prostitution. This in turn, damages their development and has serious effects on their mental, physical and psychological state.

According to recent statistics, the earliest age of a child to become subjected to prostitution is twelve years old. The larger percentage is girls, who are often runaways or homeless kids. This in turn, makes it hard for the government to track them down and send help because they have no legal guardian to report them missing.

Aside from the emotional and physical trauma that these victims go through, they are also put at risk at developing HIV. This disease can be contracted from sexual activities and since their business is not legal, these people often do not get the help that they need. Some customers even purposely choose younger persons because of the less percentage of contracting the disease.
